Last night we decided that the safest place for us to be anchored was to be outside the port of La Savina. It’s a great decision by the Captain as we are safely out of the wind and weather...the only downside is the amount of traffic into and out of the marina.

The biggest of these are the ferries...and this one is the biggest of them all...you may remember us talking about the huge wave it creates in a previous post. Well, here it is again.....just look at the difference in size....little Windekind on the right and the huge monster ferry on the left...it kind of puts things into perspective!

Once any danger of getting swamped by the wave was over it was time to canoe everyone ashore....poor BT had to make two trips there and back...just to ensure we girls arrived with dry bums!!! What a star!!

Another treat for the girls this morning was to take them to one of our favourite cafes in La Savina where we had yet more smoothies and chocolate croissants. It was also a chance to plug a few things in and get them charged...always a dilemma for us on the boat...and to gather yet more supplies...these girls are eating us out of house and home! We have all been commenting on how sailing and being out in the fresh air has made us all feel much more hungry than we would normally be (...yes, really, it’s not just an excuse to eat...) and also so much more tired....we are all becoming accustomed to an afternoon siesta....when in Spain and all that....

Once everything had been accomplished it was time to make our way the short distance along the coast to Cala Saona......this has become a firm favourite for both of us...and I think for the girls too. The snorkelling is out of this world! Harriet commented that she was swimming in an aquarium...

and she is getting much more confident with the fish swimming around her...

Abbie is a true mermaid...she seems really at home in the sea!!

We all enjoyed a long swim with the fish. BT pointed out a cuttle fish...WOW! This is an amazing fish! As it swam along it’s body rippled like grey velvety silk, a frill around it’s edges fluttered as it glided through the water and then, as it came to rest, the colour change was awesome...it suddenly disappeared as it altered it’s appearance to look like just like the rocks around it!...this is a first for us both...just fantastic!

Harriet and Billy saw a huge starfish whilst snorkelling on the reef...there was something new to see in every direction.....just a wonderful experience that we loved sharing with the girls.

The end to another perfect day...a beautiful sunset....
