After the last few days of lots of cycling we decided to give ourselves a bit of a break. We drove to Le Somail...

had a wander through the village, buying some bread from the local epicerie barge

and then a walk to the junction of the Canal du Midi and The Canal de la Robine.....it wasn’t at all what we expected....no bells and whistles, just an enormous gravel factory....a little disappointing really. However, we did spot a canal side bar (Port Minnervois) offering food, water and showers...we’ll be back there later!

We thought we’d take a look at the sea...as we are so close. We beetled to Gruissan,

took a look at the sea and the etang

then parked at the Ecluse be Mondraic and cycled into Narbonne....another beautiful city with a 12th Century church, a large central square and the canal running right through it....beautiful!

Tonight we drove back to the bar...had more gold plated beer and a hot shower...and settled there for the night.
