We woke to a sunny but windy day in Puerto Soller. It always takes us a few days to recover from a long trip so today was all about resting, sleeping, tidying sails away and BT being a hero yet again. Puerto Soller is known for not being a terribly easy place to anchor, and today proved that once again. As we sat and enjoyed our surroundings in the sunshine, we became aware of a port authority boat pulling a large Bavaria 42 through the anchorage...it had managed to drift away from its anchorage, crash into a few other boats along the way and almost end up on the rocks at the port entrance, before being ‘rescued’ by the port authorities...however, the anchor hadn’t been raised, so as it was pulled through the harbour, it managed to pull up the anchor of another boat and start pulling that too....it was a disaster...so, guess what? Yup, you guessed it, BT hopped into Mango Tango, rushed over (as fast as you can in a canoe) to the troubled boat, and along with the port authority guys managed to disentangle the boats and get the Bavaria safely anchored.....the authorities were SO grateful they offered BT anything he wanted...a free berth for the night, water...anything!!!! What a guy!

The rest of the day was fairly uneventful in comparison!! It was incredibly windy, so much so that I even had waves in my glass of water and the sea was still very bumphly in the harbour making Windekind roll all day and all night...not terribly pleasant but nothing we can do about it...we were just glad to be safe in Mallorca at last.
