Whilst we had good internet connection in Porto Colom we had booked to go to the nearby island of Cabrera. It is a national park and can only be visited by boat if you have a permit, and to stay overnight you have to pre book and pay for a buoy....there is no anchoring allowed here. Our buoy was booked for tonight, so, after canoeing ashore for a final shop we set sail...Dave caught us up and managed to photograph us as we sailed out of the harbour...

All was going well, but as the afternoon went on the winds freshened well above the forecast and went round on ‘the nose’. As we crawled passed Cala Montrago we decided to call it a day and anchored up for the night. We were on holiday after all!

At 3am we were up and out of the anchorage; the winds had died away overnight and we had almost dead calm as we motored the rest of the way (15 miles) over to Cabrera in time for the sunrise.
