From the photos we uploaded yesterday, you will see that we spent the morning blogging...in a very smart yacht club....after a scrumptious breakfast of bacon and eggs, followed by a coffee and catch up with Tom.
Now that we had found Crabbies, it was important to go and stock up with a few more bottles, and some ice to keep them cool, before leaving San Antonio for now.

We had an absolutely fantastic sail along the north coast of Ibiza...the towering cliff faces were impressive, but made for a very hostile coast. There are very few places to find a safe anchorage along here, especially as the wind is due in from the north tomorrow, making sanctuary along this coastline almost impossible...except, that is, for a couple of places.

We had decided to head for San Miguel....BT knows this anchorage well and assured me that we would find a secure/non bumphly place to stop for the night. However, about 2 miles short of San Miguel we found this gorgeous little cala...Cala Portixol.

Its a very small cala that is surrounded by the most gorgeous fisherman's huts. It’s not the place for most boats to be as it is just too tiny....and quite rocky on the bottom. As you can imagine, after our last adventure in a small cala, we were very cautious and entered at a snails pace. BT was extra vigilant, putting out two anchors and settling us in a a spot right in the middle of the cala.

The water here is probably the clearest that I have seen...the bottom was clearly vivible and, as you can see, the fish were plentiful. We weren’t on our own in this bay, there was a young couple in a very small boat anchored in a serene corner: another couple who were travelling the island in a rib, but camping ashore in the smallest pop up tent you have ever seen and a group of lads having the time of their lives staying in one of the fisherman's huts and messing about with a beat up old rowing boat.Despite the company, it was a wonderfully quiet, calm evening....apart from the pesky mosquitoes that is!
