The water was like glass when we awoke. The sun was turning up the heat, people were beginning to drift onto the beach and a gentle breeze blew the fresh salty air over our sleepy bodies. What a way to greet the morning! Another healthy start to the day, yoghurt and fruit, before we paddled the length of the whole bay...there are a couple more beach bars and some small pieces of beach...all littered with brightly coloured sun umbrellas and semi naked (or completely naked in some cases) bodies cooking slowly! Many people are in the water splashing and playing games or snorkelling the reefs to swim with the many hundreds of fish to be found there. BT was, as always, checking out all the other places along the coast that we could anchor should we return in the future.

Once back on board Windekind, and with mango Tango safely tied into place we very quietly and gently sailed off the mooring...so quietly in fact that we scared a couple of snorkellists who never heard us coming...imagine looking up and finding this rather large wooden boat about to run you over.....of course we were much more careful than that...we gave them a wide berth!

Once we reached the headland the calm was all about to change. The sea became much more bumphly and the wind...our not so welcome guest, was right on the nose yet again...I’m not sure we will believe a weather forecast any more. Anyway, it was time for us to leave the North coast and almost complete our tour of Ibiza.

We came past the lighthouse and small island that we had passed in the early hours of the morning last Sunday, and into another huge bay ..Ensa de San Vicente...with Cala de san Vicente immediately on our right and Cala del Lleo straight ahead. We are expecting the wind to head straight into Cala de San Vicente tomorrow morning, so, in order to have some kind of protection we have chosen Cala del Lleo to anchor in tonight. We have managed to tuck up right into a little cove surrounded by many fisherman's huts.

It wasn’t an easy Cala to enter however, as there are many hidden rocks filling the bay...we did have one near miss...fortunately, the water is so clear you can see what is lurking just beneath the surface. The shallow cliffs around us are an amazing orange colour...almost as if the sun has reached down and touched the earth and left remnants of itself in the soil...you can imagine how awesome they look as the sun’s final glow of the day highlights them.

Snorkelling took another exciting turn today....as well as the myriads of fish we spotted an eel snakng it’s way along a reef...searching every nook and cranny for some delicious morsel! It was black with yellow spots and about 1 metre long...does anyone have any idea what kind of eel this might be? We didn't hang about in that spot for long once we had spied it...not taking any chances...we don’t want to be tasted and spat out by a seriously scary looking eel.
Just as the sun was setting this awesome yacht came sailing by.......what a picture!
